Parliamentary elections were held in Iraq earlier this month, with the influential Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr winning the biggest share of the vote. The impact domestically, internationally, and from the perspective of those with business interests in Iraq, will remain unclear for the near term, but the results and trends in the immediate aftermath cast light on what the future for Iraq might hold.
